Event details

Duration

How long will the event last? Indicate the number of days and the number of hours per day that the event lasts. The number of days refers to days as defined in the event communication. If an event starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 2 a.m., this is regarded as one day. For events lasting more than one day and where the number of hours per day varies, give an average of the number of hours per day.

icoon parameter 'duurtijd'
Surface area

What is the event site area? Indicate which answer is applicable. (Area = total area of the site)

For reference:
10,000 m² = 100 m x 100 m
100,000 m² = 1,000 m x 100 m

icoon parameter 'oppervlakte'
Entrances

How many entrances does the event have? An entrance is an opening through which visitors enter the event. Exits are not taken into account. We consider a restricted opening of up to 6 m² to be an entrance. An entrance with an opening of more than 6 m² may only be regarded as an entrance if it can be demarcated by fences, flower pots, etc.

For example: an event with two entrances has two access points and a square at the intersection of four streets has four entrances.

If the number of entrances cannot be calculated (e.g. with at an open event) or is unknown, indicate 'number unknown'.

icoon parameter 'toegangswegen'
Expected attendance

What is the expected attendance? Indicate which answer option is applicable. This is the expected attendance on one day. Base your figure on an average number if the event takes place over several days.

Base your figure on the number of visitors to a previous identical or comparable event, using social media, or make an estimate. No distinction should be made between the number of visitors and the number of participants (e.g. in sports events). If the event has both visitors and participants, add up the expected attendance for both groups.

icoon parameter 'verwachte opkomst'
Budget

What is the budget for counting methods deployed at the event?

icoon parameter 'budget'
Real-time

Is it necessary to know the number of visitors during the event (e.g. for security or logistics reasons)? Or is the number of visitors only important after the event?

Indicate whether real-time data on visitor numbers is necessary. Real-time data gives a (quasi) instantaneous picture of the number of visitors at a given moment.

icoon parameter 'realtime'
Crowd density

Is it necessary to know crowd density or population number at different locations within the event (e.g. for safety or logistics)?

Indicate whether measurement of visitor crowd density is necessary.

icoon parameter 'druktebeeld'
Unique visitors

Is it necessary to know the number of unique visitors who attended the event.

Indicate whether measurement of the unique number of visitors is necessary.

icoon parameter 'unieke bezoekers'
Dynamics

Is it necessary to understand the dynamics within different event zones and how visitors move within and between the different zones?

Indicate whether measurement of visitor dynamics is necessary.

icoon parameter 'dynamiek'

Overview counting methods

The following overview indicates which counting methods are recommended for the event on a practical, technical and financial basis, with an estimate of the cost price, excluding VAT, for each counting method.
